“Real integrity is doing the right thing, knowing that nobody's going to know whether you did it or not.”- Oprah Winfrey
I, just like you on many occasions found myself in states of confusion of what next or what best to do. On many of this occasion, we do make the wrong choice because our decision is based on selfish interest without asking; is it the right thing to do? “Next to doing the right thing, the most important thing is to let people know you are doing the right thing.” - John D. Rockefeller
We do deny the truth, but whether we like it or not, an average human being knows the difference between right and wrong. J. C. Watts says “Character is doing the right thing when nobody's looking. There are too many people who think that the only thing that's right is to get by, and the only thing that's wrong is to get caught.” The moment you are making a decision based on what you will gain or lose, without asking yourself, is it the right thing to do, believe me, you are threading the wrong path. A path with a dead-end; be careful.
Just some years back, a friend is in such a state of confusion but fortunately, he decided not to keep it to himself. He called my attention to it, as the popular proverb refilled that “two (good) heads are better than one”. We deliberated on it and today he is just grateful. We apply just one technique using a question, what do you think is the right thing? This method of decision making still depends on the proverb, “show me your friend and I will tell you who you are”. John D. Rockefeller advised “Next to doing the right thing, the most important thing is to let people know you are doing the right thing.”
It is hard doing the right thing working towards your dream, but it is the best.
Never give up
