“If you want to be happy, set a goal that commands your thoughts, liberates your energy
and inspires your hopes.” – Andrew Carnegie
Being in
possession of money and what money can buy delight the heart, but cannot on its
own make man happy. Even if it is for mundane things, someone with excess of
cash can only be happy thinking of beautiful things and the honour the money
can achieve according to his own view, nothing more.
Sadness has
always been associated with people who lacks a lot in life despite the popular
slogan of the “rich also cry”. If that is the case, then there should be
prescription for continuous and everlasting happiness. According to Orison
Swett Marden “All who have
accomplished great things have had a great aim; have fixed their gaze on a goal which
was high, one which sometimes seemed impossible.”
Whether you have or have not, one way to retain a lot of
zeal that keep you happy all the time is to set goals that
keep you busy doing great things that delight your heart. Michael Korda
believes in this when he says, “One way to keep momentum going is to have
constantly greater goals.” Mark
Victor Hansen proclaimed “By recording your dreams and goals on paper,
you set in motion the process of becoming the person you most want to be. Put
your future in good hands—your own.” What else could make you endlessly happy
than to become who you want to be. If that is the case, start setting and review your goal regularly.
