“Life
is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated.” – Confucius
If simplicity is the mother of
invention, so it is for living a better life. In an attempt to simplify the way
we do things using technology, the world is getting complex day by day. It now
upon you to simplify it because “You get in life what you have the courage to
ask for” says Oprah Winfrey. A little
research on those close to me do reveal how simple or complex they make their
life become. On their mobile phones are more than necessary apps. A mere
looking at it makes you confused. Trying to simplify does not mean you should
be left behind either, try to be in vogue. I can’t imagine people competing
with someone not better than you. Focus
on getting better not to outshine anyone. Being in hurry of achieving what you
don’t have of becoming what you are not is even more frustrating. Be calm,
everything you so desire will fall into places than being in hurry.
“In the end, it's not the years in your
life that count. It's the life in your years. - Abraham Lincoln. Are you counting the years or living the life you and
people around you will remember for good. Let us reflect on what William
James has to say on this, “The
greatest use of life is to spend it for something that will outlast it.” Can
you dispute that? People never mind what happen in their own life, but will be
generous to fix yours if you don’t mind. But unfortunate you will regret the
solution they provide. So “the first step to getting the things you want out of
life is this: Decide what you want” says Ben Stein. If you don’t, people will do it for you.
I have heard this countless number of
times, safety first, yes it is, but I believe Denis Waitley saying “life is inherently risky. There is only
one big risk you should avoid at all costs, and that is the risk of doing
nothing” is also right. If you are trying to avoid the risk you can never share
the benefit. Then why are you here? Unforeseen circumstances happen in life,
what determine its outcome is our reaction to it. “Life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we react to it.” - Dennis P. Kimbro. One thing you should be
aware is that “When one door closes, another opens; but we often look so
long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one that
has opened for us.” Says Alexander Graham Bell
