“In the
confrontation between the stream and the rock, the stream always wins not
through strength but by perseverance” - H. Jackson Brown
Don’t tell me you have not heard
this before as inspired by Martin Luther King, Jr.:
The great American activist and most visible spokesperson and leader in the
Civil Rights Movement.
“If you can’t
fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but
whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.” It’s as simple as that, there
is no need for being in hurry, just have the spirit of being on course for as
long as possible. “History has taught us that change does not come
as easy as that. Change will come after much hard work, patience and
perseverance.” says Muhamadu Buhari. If you believe in perseverance, you will not
disappointment or discouragement rather recharge knowing that you are getting
closer.
Perseverance is endurance in connote, it needs no strength to operate
it, all you need is focus and necessary action directed to that goal at hand.
Orison Swett Marden considers that “Success is the child of drudgery and
perseverance. It cannot be coaxed or bribed; pay the price and it is yours.” If
you can’t pay the price, then forget the gain. Believe it or not “You aren’t
going to find anybody that’s going to be successful without making a sacrifice
and without perseverance” says Lou Holtz. If you truly want it so bad, be ready
to give whatever it takes positively to get, funny enough, it’s as simple as moving
forward without looking back
There is one thing I come to realised
about this principle of achievement; it is a natural quality to build us not
only to achieve our desire but also to keep it as long as possible. If you want
it big and want it for as long as possible, never take short cut, pay the full
price. Moreover “I do not think that there is any other
quality so essential to success of any kind as the quality of perseverance. It overcomes
almost everything, even nature” says John D. Rockefeller.
